The least cumbersome and very effecient in all circumstances.
I have tried gell fuel, alcohol, butane and found the esbit pocket stove suits my needs the best. It is compact, sturdy enough to hold a small pot for cooking and heats extremely fast and reaches boiling levels quickly in all altitudes. I am an over the road truck driver and this has been my survival when stranded in location where there is no facilities for eating. I carry basics and make soups from dried vegetables and stocks. The Tommy Stove gets extremelyh hot therefore I place it on a 12x12 ceramic tile when cooking inside my cab. I crack the window because of the fumes which are non-toxic but I do it as a precaution. the fuel cubes a relatively inexpensive compaired to other types of fuel and are not cumbersome. Easily fit in my survival backpack with my pan, dried ingredients and water. I have been using this system for over 10 years and willcontinue to do so.
